海辺の村

ドラクエ4DS 北米版 5章

ホフマンの街を大きくするのを進めるとキリが無いのでこの辺にしておいて、まだとってないチョイ重要アイテムをとりにいくことにする。

（というかもうホフマンのしゃべる英語は難しすぎて。。。



まだ行ってなかったキングレオ（Palais de Léon）の北、海辺の村へ




「This here be Dunplundrin, arrr!
「ここは、ダンプランドリンだ。アー！

海賊がよく使う言葉、Yesの意味

この村の人たちは海賊が良く使う言葉で話しているみたいです。

「そして、彼らはこの大きく広い世界で自分達の戦利品を滝の中にどこかに深く隠したままにしました。




「Folks say there's a liquid metal sword in amongst their loot, too. Arrr!
「人は、海賊達の戦利品の中に、はぐれメタルの剣があると言われています。アー！




「We used to have a karstaway stone here in our village, arrr.
「If ya dropped it in the sea, the water around it would dry up just like that.
「私たちは以前、村に渇きの石を持っていました。アー。
「もし海の中にそれを落したら、その周りの水はまさしくこのようにすっかり乾燥するだろうに。

make the difference
直訳すれば「違いを作る」という意味だが、何かの行動を起こす前と比較して、明らかに今までと違った新たな価値ある変化を作り出すような意味として使用します。
「重要である」とか「影響を与える」といった意味で使用します。


Fiddler's Green
水夫の楽園（船乗りが死後に行く、酒と女と歌のあふれる水夫達の理想郷）
つまり楽園のような良い場所という意味のようにも思えますが、死という意味となります。


とこの村では、時の砂（The sands of time）の伝説と、はぐれメタルの剣（a liquid metal sword）が村の宝としてどこかの滝に隠させれているという情報とこの村には、以前かわきの石（a karstaway stone）があったという情報を得ることができました。
